Origins and Journey
It was during an 2014 exchange program to Southern Oregon University from William Paterson University of in New Jersey when I began my studies in applied mycology. I was captivated by the profound wisdom of medicinal mushrooms and their historic uses in natural medicine. One of my first lessons was in unlocking the potency of these remarkable fungi through a dedicated process known as the decoction, a one hour steep or simmer. This "golden hour" became more than just a brewing method; it was a powerful symbol for a new way of living that resonated deeply with me. It represents the intentional act of slowing down, of carving out time for our well-being, and of transforming a daily habit into a revolutionary act of health.
Golden Hourglass Teas is the culmination of this journey—a synthesis of my expertise regarding tea and mushrooms, coupled with a passion for holistic healthy living. Our mission is to ignite and fan the flames of myco-curiosity in our community by bridging the gap between nature's ancient wisdom and our modern lives. Through our carefully formulated loose-leaf teas, immersive tastings, and engaging workshops, we bring fungal knowledge to life—one sip, one story, and one genuine connection at a time.
